    This is an elegant French 4 piece Salad and Carving Set in original box. The handles are sterling silver
    embellished with an oval medallion framed by row of beads and acanthus leaves in relief.
    There are NO monograms on the set.
    The handles bear
    the French “
    Minerve
    Premier
    Titre
    ” hallmark, indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. The
    Minerve
    Premier
    Titre
    is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver.
    Each piece also bears the maker’s mark of
    Henin & Fils
    , successor of Henin & Freres, master silversmith in Paris from 1872-1875
    who was located in the
    77 rue des Archives in Paris.
    The salad fork prongs and spoon bowl are in bone of bovid. The knife blade bears engraving PARIS
    Condition:
    This sterling silver serving set is overall in good antique condition with the exception of faint scratches and very tiny dents on the silver clad handles due to great age and use. The case shows signs of wear. Some
    surface stains on the carving knife blade and faint scratches due to age and normal use. There is a small dent on one of the prongs on the carving fork and on a base of salad fork (see pictures)
